What is polymeric sand?

Jointing sand mixed with a dry polymer. You sweep it into the paver joints dry, then mist it to activate, it sets semi-hard, resisting weeds, ants, and erosion. Done right it lasts 5 to 10 years. Done wrong (on a wet surface, or over-watered during activation) it hazes the paver tops. We do it right.

Will cleaning wash out all my joint sand?

Some, yes, and that's expected and necessary on a re-sand job. On a clean-only (no re-sand) job we use a lower-pressure technique around joints to preserve what's there. Either way we'll tell you before the wash what the sand situation is going to look like after.
